Since September, the whole school has been taking part in The Daily Mile, an innovative approach to learning which encourages the children to be more active for approximately 15 minutes per day, hopefully covering (approximately) one mile.

The children can run, walk, skip or jog the distance, but the emphasis is upon doing something as a school, increasing fitness, rejuvenating tired children and encouraging camaraderie.

Most children have improved their time/distance since starting this initiative (which currently happens weekly but can be built upon) and are more than happy to get out and RUN! Teachers join in too and there is no pressure to be a record breaker or leave others behind. It’s teamwork and everyone takes part at their own level.
