KS1 had a fantastic morning on Tuesday 27th November at Safetyworks. The children learnt so much by participating in 5 workshops all about safety. The facilities were ideal for learning and replicated real life in many situations. They learnt about safety whilst dealing with animals (dogs) with a talk by the Blue Cross and about fire with a talk from the Tyne and Wear Fire & Rescue which took place in a house and ended with an important video about fire safety. They visited a metro station with the police and learnt about safety whilst on platforms and with the public. They also learnt about how to safely cross the road and about dangers whilst in the public places and what do if you have an accident with a workshop by St Johns Ambulance. Overall, a very successful, informative and fun morning was had by all!
