This term in our RE lessons we have been learning about Jewish customs and rituals. We talked about lots of different artefacts including the tefillin, the Tallit and the Shema. We discussed a variety of different rituals but we really enjoyed learning about the mezuzah and understanding its significance to Jewish people. To help us we listened to the Mezuzah song, which was very catchy! Did you know that a mezuzah can be placed on any door post in the house except for the bathroom? We know that the mezuzah can come in all sorts of designs, some very traditional and others very modern. You can even have Spiderman on a mezuzah! We designed our own which I’m sure you agree look just great.
