This week in Early Years, we have been learning all about the life cycle of a frog. We have looked through books and stories to see how frogs lay their eggs and how they eventually turn into a frog. We have learnt lots of new language including habitats, frog spawn, tadpoles, froglets and frogs. Everyone enjoyed singing 5 little speckled frogs and jumping in the pool.
The children then explored the texture of the cold frog spawn (Chia seeds) on their hands. Frog spawn was dripped, poured rubbed, squeezed and moved around the tray.
The children then created their own frog life cycles, including drawing pictures of the life cycle and adding captions.
