We have been studying the text ‘Varmints’. The book tells the story of local creatures being forced out of their peaceful land by developers creating a city. We imagined being part of this local culture and wrote speeches which aimed to inspire the rest of our nation to fight back against these intruders.
We focussed on using powerful language, repetition and ‘the rule of three’. The results were fantastic and are proudly displayed in school.
