What an afternoon in we had in Forest School! The weather was great- not too hot- not too cold- it was just right! The children were busy all afternoon exploring bugs, using different areas and lots of play with the big equipment. You could see team work in play, the resilience when things didn’t quite go according to plan and the sheer joy at doing something that they had never done before. It was lovely to see children trying out new activities with their friends, having a go and supporting each other. We have budding inventors and designers who created some great stuff and some experimented with collection of water from the roof of their den. Hot dogs were on the menu this afternoon too. A couple of the children lit the fire and a few of the children served their friends with the food. They were super at looking after their friends and working together to feed hungry children. The hot dogs were a big hit and went down a treat, some children even managed to get seconds. During our reflection of the afternoon, the children talked about the moments that stood out for them and it was lovely to hear how many of them enjoy playing with friends, spending time outdoors and some even wanted to press the reset button to do it all again. Once again a super afternoon in Forest School.
