To finish off our orienteering unit, the children were challenged to use the key on the map to plot some missing physical features. Then they had to make their way through a series of cross curricular maths challenges to complete the course. They orientated their maps to find the locations of the challenges and were tasked with naming physical features at point North on the compass at each location.
The children have achieved the skills needed to be able to use a key, follow a map and read the directions on a compass very well.
