Primary School Admissions (Reception Class) – September 2027
If your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023 and you live in Gateshead, you can apply from 7th September 2026 for your child to start school in September 2027.

Online applications must be submitted by 15th January 2027. If you do not submit your form by this date, you will reduce your chances of gaining a place at one of your preferred schools.
You should list three school preferences on your application, applying for only one school does not improve your chances of gaining a place at this school. Please note – the admissions team at Gateshead Council is responsible for allocating places. Schools have no involvement or input into this process.
