Yesterday we were looking at adding on a number line but we found it a little bit tricky. Today we went outside with some chalk and practiced the steps together. We managed so much better afterwards! It was lovely to see the children helping each other by explaining...

The children have started learning about multiplication and they have been working practically making equal groups and counting in 2's 5's and 10's.
We have been using lots of practical resources to help us to make equal groups, then we have been using our knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to count them.
We represented our word problem using money. We counted in the 2s 5s and 10s.
Today, we started working with coins. We were looking at different ways to make amounts and ordering them from greatest to smallest. We particularly enjoyed making 'money men' and seeing which person was worth the most! .
