Using non-standard units to measure area
Net Madness
Today in maths, we have been learning what the net of a shape is. We made out own so we could see the link between the net of a shape and the 3D shape.
Ratio
In year 6, we have been learning about ratio. We have been creating ratios and building towers to help us solve problems.
Directions
We used different vehicles and followed instructions such as ‘left, right, forwards and backwards’ to ‘zoom’ around the room. We also then used the language ourselves to describe our journey around with the vehicles.
Measurement
We have worked practically today, choosing appropriate equipment to measure different lengths and heights around school. We thought about which equipment would give us the most accurate measurements.
Learning through play, the best way to learn!
Our grown ups play along side us, questioning and observing us to help us develop our skills and knowledge.
