Our
Subjects
Hansel and Gretel
We read our new class text this week. We enjoyed getting to know the story and characters by taking part in a role-play lesson. We then carried out class discussions about the choices that the characters make at different points of the story.
What is area?
We've been learning about area this week and decided to use post-it notes to explore how we can measure the space taken up by a shape.
Throwing and Catching
We have been developing our throwing and catching skills in PE. We used the underarm technique to throw a ball or beanbag to our peers. Using our hand-eye coordination, we practised throwing and catching from a variety of distances.

Ho Ho Ho!
We enjoyed finding the beat and playing the bells to 'Ho Ho Ho' by Joanna Mangona!
Celebrations all around us
In RE this term we have been looking at different celebrations. We finished it off with our current celebration of Advent and made an advent crown with each candle representing hope, joy, peace and love.
Great Rowland’s sewing bee
In DT we threaded our needles and after designing our puppets made them from felt material. It was a little tricky!
Mind Mapping in 5B!
In 5B we've been trying out Mind Maps as a way of us showing what we have learned in our unit about friction - the notes in pencil are what we knew at the start, and the notes in pen are what we knew by the end!
