We reread the story of ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ and acted out each part of the story thinking about the emotions of each character and the order in which it happened.
Class 1
Digital Painting
We worked hard to use the line and fill tool to create our own digital paintings in the style of Wassily Kandinsky.
Odd socks for Anti-bullying week
Dance
We worked hard to move our bodies in time to the music, feeling the rhythm of the music and deciding how to move to each part. We pretended to be trees throughout the seasons, growing up tall and then losing our leaves in the Autumn.
Our Harvest Donations for Strathmore Road ‘Pay as you Feel’ Cafe
To celebrate Harvest Festival, our families have been donating food items for the local 'pay as you feel' cafe at Strathmore Road Methodist Church in the village. Our donations were gratefully received by both the team at the cafe and the local residents.
Making rain gauges
We worked together to create rain gauges to collect and record the amount of rainfall throughout the different seasons. Fingers crossed for rain soon!
Happy Halloween from 1M
We had lots of fun for at our Halloween day, enjoying a disco and games, a trail and creating autumnal creations using clay. Happy Halloween everyone!
Year 1 goes to Forest school
We had a brilliant time at Forest school today despite the rain, exploring in the mud, playing games, cooking on the fire, completing obstacle courses, slack lining and creating wonderful nature artwork. [contact-form][contact-field label="Name" type="name"...
We love to explore
We have been enjoying exploring different animals and plants in Year 1 using our microscope and the different slides, learning facts about each slide as we investigate them.
Creations to help Jim and the giant
We designed and created cup and string phones to help the giant communicate with Jim since Jim chopped the beanstalk down. We had great fun testing them to make sure they would be able to hear each other too!
