Our Zoo Trip!
1R and 2S visited Northumberland Country Zoo this week. All children had a fabulous day, even in the hot weather! We enjoyed observing the animals and finding out which animal groups they belonged too. We also took part in a learning activity and got to stroke a giant...
Forest School
Year 1 and Year 2 had a brilliant afternoon at Forest school, lighting a fire, whittling sticks as well as taking part in an obstacle course.
Hockey
We loved learning how to play hockey, pushing the ball to a partner as well as dribbling in and out of cones. We found it a bit tricky learning how to hold the stick at first, but we soon learned and had lots of fun.
Basketball
Today we tried dribbling and shooting using basketballs. We found it a little bit tricky at the start to throw it so high but we were superstar basketballers by the end of the session, managing to score lots of points.
Table tennis
We had a brilliant time learning about and trying different table tennis challenges. Most of us enjoyed the challenge of hitting the skittles with the ball the best.
Monitoring the wind
We have been learning all about the wind and how it is measured using the Beaufort Scale. We made our own wind socks to see the direction of the wind.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
We had a wonderful day learning about the Queen and why we are celebrating the jubilee. We made crowns and flags and enjoyed a range of activities with our parents and carers on the field.
