We enjoyed having PC Steven visit our class today, showing us his equipment and discussing with us how we can keep ourselves safe. He helped us to understand how the police can help us and protect our community.

Exploring our den
We arrived at school to a den in our outdoor area for us to explore. We discussed who might have been in the den and used what we could see around us as clues to our new book.
Making Wind Vanes
We made wind vanes in groups, thinking about the point of the compass and took them outside to see the direction the wind was blowing in.
Brain Tumour Awareness
We wore hats to support and raise money and awareness for Brain Tumour Awareness. We spoke about the charity and how we can support them.
Egg STEM Challenge Day
We had lots of fun creating a way to keep our egg safe as well as then testing them and improving our designs. Well done to the Year 1 winners.

Joseph’s multicoloured coat
We learned about Joseph getting his multicoloured coat from his father Jacob because he was the favourite son. We enjoyed exploring and trying on the coat and it’s meaning.
Year 1 enjoy Forest school
We had a brilliant time at Forest school, lighting the fire, cooking and eating s’mores, making dens, creating obstacle courses and exploring in the mud alongside lots more!
World Book Day 📚
We had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day in Year 1, dressing up as different words and writing stories with our peers. We enjoyed completing Kahoot quizzes and searching for puzzle pieces to complete the cover of a book.
Exploring Rowlands Gill
We enjoyed walking around Rowlands Gill, identifying physical and human features we had seen on the map including the library, shops, war memorial, park and the river.
