Making maps
Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful time visualising and creating the journey from the play park to school in the hall and then physically taking part in the journey around the room to help to remember the key landmarks. We then drew our own maps to show the journey we...
Listening to stories
In Year 1, we have been loving listening to different stories in provision on the Yoto. We like being able to choose which story we like independently. Our current favourite is Peter Rabbit!
Parts of our body
We have been learning all about the parts of the body, and we then drew around each other and labelled it with the parts we had learned.
Directions
We used different vehicles and followed instructions such as ‘left, right, forwards and backwards’ to ‘zoom’ around the room. We also then used the language ourselves to describe our journey around with the vehicles.
Stargazing
We enjoyed looking at the constellations on the ceiling to celebrate the start of our new book ‘Look Up!’. We explored different planets and then we found the plough and Orion belt.
Celebrating Christmas
We had an excellent afternoon with a visit from Santa, a disco, lots of games and some party food. We had so much fun celebrating with our friends.
