SEND Information for Parents and Carers
Supporting children with additional needs is very important to us and we are always looking at ways we can further improve and deepen our inclusive approach. On this page, we will post links to organisations, information and resources which may be useful for parents in supporting their child. As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you want to discuss any SEND matter or any of the posts on the page.SENDCo – Chris Boddy – 01207 549359
Gateshead Autism Hub
Do you live in Gateshead? Are you a parent/carer of parents and carers of an autistic child or young person aged 0-25 years? Gateshead Council have established a series of Autism Hubs for parents and carers who would like support, advice and a friendly face for all matters relating to being a parent of a child with autism or a child who is presenting with neurodiverse behaviours. The groups are designed for adults so that you can get the most from the support provided. No booking is required, and your young person does not need to have a diagnosis.
I know parents who have found this a very helpful and positive link to have, so – if you feel you would like to know more – get in touch by emailing them on [email protected]
