Spring will soon be here, and with it will come a wide variety of insects, including Bumblebees. Each spring, Bumblebee queens from last years nests wake up and start to build nests of their own. Sometimes, however, these nests can be made in inconvenient places, like in peoples lofts. Local company, Greenway Integrated Pest Management Ltd, can move these nests without destroying them and re-home them in green spaces.

The Great British Bee Swap allows people with available green spaces to sign up as a possible home for Bumblebee nests that have been removed from people’s houses. If you would like to offer up your garden to some homeless Bumblebees then sign up on the Great British Bee Swap page on Greenway’s website. The nests are contained in a wooden box and at the end of the year, after the nests reproductive cycle is complete and next years queens have left, the boxes will be removed by Greenway ready to be used again next year. No mess, no fuss, no waste, and you’ll be helping to protect local biodiversity and the environment!
