Today it was announced that schools across the country will close on Friday 20th March until further notice.
It was also announced that schools will still be open for the children of key workers and some vulnerable pupils.
As of yet, I do not have any definitive detail about which families this will apply to or whether it means all school buildings will remain open.
I am also aware that many of you will feel concerned about your child’s education and that you may have many questions.
We have prepared for this possibility and will send home learning packs as detailed on the letter which I sent out today.
When we have further information about key workers, I will be in touch. When I know what this all means for Rowlands Gill Primary School, I will be in touch.
The staff, the governors and I are aware that you may feel anxious and confused about the current situation. I promise we will keep you informed and will update our website regularly as well as using e-schools to keep communication open with you over the coming days, weeks and months.
As usual, myself and Mr Boddy will be on our yard tomorrow to welcome your child into our school. If you have any questions, please ask us then. If your child is self-isolating, then please let them know we are thinking of them.
These are uncertain times but I promise to offer you certainty when I can. I know you have many ways of sharing this with other parents so please do. We are stronger together and you have a part to play.
Take care and stay safe.
Kind regards,
Lindsey Clarke
