As we are beginning to welcome more children back to school, we wanted to share some ideas about how to support your child with the transition, in case you felt that this would be helpful or needed for your child. Some children find returning to school challenging for many reasons and, in most cases, they quickly settle once they have been back for a day or two. However, for some children, this transition can cause more anxiety, especially at the moment after the prolonged absence from school due to Covid-19. Below is a link to a very informative leaflet, including ideas and strategies that parents and carers can use to support their child, whether they are returning next week or for one of our transition events in the last week of term, as well as after the summer holidays in September. It also mentions the possibility of letting school know if your child is worried about returning. We are always keen to support parents and carers if their child is anxious about any aspect of school, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you feel we can help.
