This week, 6B have been learning how to convert between various metric measures and have been doing a fantastic job! As a treat, I thought I’d give them the day off from doing any maths work today. Instead, I posted the recipe for a delicious Victoria sponge cake and asked them to make one at home with their family. However, I made the foolish mistake of recording the measurements in the least effective way – 0.006kg of baking soda, 0.003 litres of milk etc.
Fortunately, the children were able to use their new-found skill at converting measures to make sense of my recipe. Some of the resultant cakes, which I’m sure you’ll agree look absolutely delicious, are posted below. Take a look and I’ll add more as the photos come in.
