We are very fortunate to be part of the RISE programme, aimed at supporting the well-being of young people in the North East. RISE is provided by the NHS and means that each week we have the support of an EMHP (Early Mental Health Practitioner), Lucy McRae. She offers support, both on a 1:1 and small group basis, for our pupils and her work is all around increasing awareness of our emotions and how we can respond to them. Obviously, we have a limited amount of time with her each week but numerous children in school are already benefitting from this initiative. While we are proactive in speaking to parents where we feel accessing the RISE programme may be helpful for your child, you can also contact us should you feel that you child might benefit from some support from Lucy. It may be, however, that there is a different source of support that may suit your child better or be more appropriate, but we would always be very happy to discuss any concerns that you may have.
