The children have shown a keen interest in castles this week. There has been a lot of construction work going on and the children have made castles using a range of media and materials including junk modelling and building blocks. Some children decided they needed some golden coins to hide treasure in their castle. We found some yellow and golden paper and made our own coins, tracing round and naming the 2D shapes then cut them out.
Mrs Livingstone gave us a large box and we decided to make it into a big castle. Together the children worked together to fix the box and decorate it demonstrating fantastic team work.
The children have been using a range of skills including developing imaginative play, playing co-operatively, teamwork, fine motor skills using scissor and naming 2D shapes. Well done Early Years.
