This afternoon, in year 5 and 6 science, we started exploring different forces, recognising forces as pushes and pulls. We were investigating the effect of gravity. As part of this, we took part in an experiment. We pierced a hole in the bottom of a plastic cup and filled it with water. When the cup was held in the air, the water spilled out of the hole very quickly. However, when we dropped the cup into the sink, gravity pulled the cup and the water into the sink, without spilling any of the water out of the hole. It was fascinating!
