As part of year 5 science this afternoon, we were testing the air resistance on different objects. We made four different sized parachutes, using paper, string, masking tape and paperclips: small, medium, large and extra large. We talked about the importance of keeping variables the same but changing one variable (the size of the parachute, in this instance). We then tested how long it took for each parachute to reach the ground, using a timer. The smallest parachute reached the ground in the quickest time because it had less air resistance.
