We have been exploring the properties of 2D and 3D shapes this week.
We used string to help us find out how many vertices 2D shapes have. We also took part in a problem solving activity where we worked out how many 2D shapes we could make out of 12 lolly sticks. This helped us to name the shapes and count the number of sides they had.
We even used mirrors to see which 2D were symmetrical!
Today we looked at 3D shapes and counted vertices, edges and faces. We then worked in groups to compare the similarities and differences between different 3D shapes.
