The children in Early Years are taking part in 30 Day Wild. This project will help the children become eco-warriors of the future by connecting with nature. We already enjoy going to forest School every week and embrace our outdoor learning. This weeks activities have included:
Becoming bee champions: The children have learnt all about bees and why they are so important to us and how we can help protect them. The children planted some bee bomb seeds in our Red Kite planters to attract the bees. The children enjoyed watering them everyday and hopefully we will see some beautiful; flowers growing.
Make a mini-pond. The children learnt all about water habitats and how we can help frogs and dragonflies by creating a mini-pond.
Scavenger Hunt: The children in nursery went on a scavenger hunt at Forest school, finding different bugs, looking at the different leaves and flowers.
Cloud watching: The children enjoyed some quiet time just lying watching the clouds. We looked at the different shapes in the clouds and tried looking for clouds that looked like animals. We ‘found’ giraffes eating leaves from the tree tops, monkeys swinging and even a unicorn!
