During our end of the day story yesterday ‘peanut butter’ was mentioned which then centred a conversation around toast toppings. We made a tally chart to find the most popular out of jam, butter and peanut butter. We recognised peanut butter was the most popular as the number of votes was the biggest number with jam being the least popular. Today we made toast spreading butter or jam on it all by ourselves. Miss Hayden then read us the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’ which we joined in with our Makaton actions, it helped us remember the repeated language, recall of the story and find out how bread is made. We also discussed if someone is unkind to you, you should be kind back to them so they can learn how to be a good friend.

After our group time some of the children went and made bread in the sand pit recalling the different stages!
