Today, year 6 went on an orienteering trip to Thorp academy. When we got there we got put into groups and were assigned two young leaders from year 7, some of which we knew because they went to our school! The first task was a practice round to get familiar with the surroundings, we had to locate colours using a map. The main task had three rounds which included finding the correct words that corresponded to a specific category. The skills we needed were: communication, teamwork and map reading. Some people received medals for displaying empathy, teamwork and good sportsmanship in their groups.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon!
Thanks to Mrs Chapple and the year 7 leaders for organising this event.
