Secondary school admissions (to start year 7 in September 2026)

This applies to children born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015 and the deadline for applications is 31st October 2025.
Make sure you look at the School Admissions Brochure 2026-27 which contains essential information that will help you in making your child’s application, including:
- admission policies and oversubscription criteria for Gateshead schools

- the number of applications received and the number of places offered for previous years
Important:
- we recommend you apply to three schools – applying for only one school does not improve you chances of gaining a place at this school
- you can not apply to Emmanuel College using our online application form – you must contact Emmanuel College directly if you want to apply for a place there
- if you rank a school outside Gateshead as one or more of your preferences you must look at the admission policy for that school before submitting your application
- you must apply by 31 October 2025
