In our P.E lessons we have been on a ‘Safe Driving’ course.
First, we needed to warm up!
We marched like soldiers and jogged like fire-fighters. When the lollipop person called ‘Stop’, we were very good at stopping still (freezing) immediately.
We used quoits and circle markers as our steering wheels. Ready Steady drive. When we saw the red traffic light, we had to stop as fast as possible. If we saw the amber traffic light, we had to jog on the spot. When we saw the green traffic light…time to drive!
Mrs Andrew, the lollipop person, added roundabouts (hoops) for us to drive around and speed bumps (markers) to jump over.
It was so much fun! We’ll be giving some high quality ‘backseat driving’ advice when we’re out in the car with our parents and grandparents. We know the traffic light colours and what to do. We are driving experts!
