This half term, we are going to be writing poetry linked with Halloween and Bonfire Night. Today, to familiarise us with what a poem is, we played lots of games to help us to remember how we know when two words rhyme. We are now experts at finding rhyming words!

Today, in our maths lesson, we used different colours to help us when writing the number sentences linked to different part, part, whole models. It was tricky to remember that when we are taking away, we usually always start with the whole number.

We’ve had a hunt this afternoon for deciduous and evergreen trees. We looked on the floor for the leaves that had fallen from the deciduous trees and used these to help us to find the trees. We created a tally chart and a pictogram of our findings.
