Rowlands Gill Primary is a lovely, welcoming and supportive school: we pride ourselves on giving our children a warm, friendly and caring environment in which to learn and flourish. The children are at the centre of everything which we do. Our aim is to offer every child the chance to fulfil their potential both academically and personally, which is achieved by education of the ‘whole child’. The acquisition of knowledge and skills is the entitlement of every child, irrespective of ability or background. We strive to offer high quality teaching and exciting, stimulating experiences and we are extremely proud of the achievements of our children.
Our school has been located in its new building since 2007 and benefits from bright modern facilities, set in beautiful and extensive grounds and is fully accessible to all.

Creating digital art
In Computing we have been learning to use different tools such as paint, erase, fill and shape to create digital paintings. We then completed a challenge to create a piece of work in the style of Piet Mondrian.
Storyboard idea animations – video content.
Last the children worked on a short storyboard for their animation and this week they have put it into action. Well done kids. Watch the videos below.
Partitioning numbers
We have been focussing on place value in our Maths lessons. We know that to partition numbers means to split into smaller parts. Today we looked at how many different ways we could partition a two-digit number. We enjoyed using the base 10 and moving the tens over.

Leaves and lines
We have enjoyed researching our artist for this half term - Henri Rousseau. Today, we went on a leaf hunt in our school grounds and studied their patterns. We practised cross hatching and sketching some of the lines we saw on the leaves.
