Welcome to Nursery
Effective Early Years development is all about learning through play and this is what we do best at Rowlands Gill Nursery!
We love to get creative, challenge and expand young minds, helping them grow across all areas of learning. We believe in working with your children; following and supporting their interests, providing an active, enabling and engaging environment.

All children are entitled to 15 hours of free provision provided over 38 weeks. some working parents can claim 30 hours of childcare with a validated code available through HMRC. Our Class Blog
Forest school
We had a brilliant time at Forest school, lighting fires and cooking hot dogs on the fire for our friends. We went on mini east and leaf hunts, identifying different types of trees we have at school as well as creating dens and an animal sanctuary for mini beasts.
Creating wind vanes
We learned about what wind vanes were and what they do, and then created our own. We made sure to include the points of the compass on the wind vane to tell us the direction of the wind. We then took them outside to test them.
Dogs’ Trust Workshop Day
Dog’s Trust Workshop
Year 1 had a brilliant session learning about how to stay safe around dogs and thinking about their feelings. We learned the 5 key rules to remember around dogs, as well as what we can do if we meet an unfamiliar dog in public.
Dog’s Trust Workshop
Year 2 enjoyed learning about how to stay safe around dogs. It was brilliant to learn how dogs might be feeling if we do the wrong thing. We also enjoyed hearing all the dog stories, and sharing some of our own!
Glockenspiels
We have started to learn how to play the glockenspiels to support our song ‘You Imagination’. We worked hard to find the different notes we needed and remember the order we needed to play in.
