RECEPTION
Miss R Innes and Mrs. S BrogdenWelcome to the wonderful world of Reception!
Our teachers are Miss Innes and Mrs. Brogden and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Tingle.
We aim to inspire, in every child, a love of learning and enable them to achieve their goals, aspirations, and dreams, by encouraging independence, confidence, and creativity.
We believe that young children learn and develop best in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs, both in the classroom environment and in the great outdoors.
We hope you enjoy looking around our class blog, which is a window into our world and the wonderful things we get up to, please feel free to add any photos or comments you have too!

Year 3 Coast Study field trip
The children really enjoyed their visit to Cullercoats. They were real live geographers navigating their way around the coastal town. From testing tides to surveying passers-by they showed they had the grit that geographers need. Well done kids!
Making islands
We enjoyed making our own islands of where we thought Grandad might like to visit. We looked closely at the story to decide what we thought Grandad and Syd might like and incorporated our ideas into our island as well as things we thought were important.

Measuring and comparing
We measured each others heads, feet and hands and collected the data together. We compared whether if we had bigger hands that meant that we had bigger feet or not. We found out that the bigger feet you have generally meant you had bigger hands.
Super Skylines
We have really enjoyed creating our skylines in Art. We created our backgrounds by blending paint. We then designed our own buildings and cut out templates which we then used to print our buildings. Here is some of our amazing work!
The Maya
Year 6 have started a new unit all about the Maya. They are looking forward to combining their Geography and History skills to find out as much as they can about them. We Started by using our atlas skills to find out about where they had settled. We made predictions...
