The children were given a mysterious message in a bottle from Miss Brown’s many visits abroad. The message was from a person who wrote about being kidnapped from their home and being sold as a slave. The children put their thinking caps on and tried to find the places that were mentioned in the message by using their developing atlas skills. They mapped out the journey and wrote news reports to tell the facts.
