Welcome to Nursery
Effective Early Years development is all about learning through play and this is what we do best at Rowlands Gill Nursery!
We love to get creative, challenge and expand young minds, helping them grow across all areas of learning. We believe in working with your children; following and supporting their interests, providing an active, enabling and engaging environment.
Nursery Admissions 2018/19
All children are entitled to 15 hours of free provision provided over 38 weeks. some working parents can claim 30 hours of childcare with a validated code available through HMRC. Where a parent or carer chooses to take up fewer than 15/30 hours or chooses to split their entitlement with another provider the criteria will be applied regardless.We provide and allocate nursery places at Rowlands Gill Primary School using the local authority Nursery Education Admissions Policy.
We have 15 and 30 hour places available for the summer 18 term so please contact us if you would like more information.
Nursery Hours are: 8.45-11.45 Monday to Friday for AM sessions, 12.15-3.15 Monday to Friday for PM sessions. Children taking up a 15 hour place will be offered an AM or PM session. If these times are not suitable please contact school as we look at each place individually to suit the needs of the parents and children.
Children taking up a 30 hour place will do 8.45-3.15 Monday to Thursday and 8.45-12.45 on a Friday

We worked hard to use the line and fill tool to create our own digital paintings in the style of Wassily Kandinsky.
Nursery Rhyme Week 2023: Jack and Jill

Diwali- A Festival of Light
We celebrating Diwali throughout the week by learning all about the Hindu Festival of light, creating patterns and making Diya lamps. We did some food tasting too.
Rememberance
Year 4 were really grateful to be invited to the prayer space and to spend time sharing our thoughts, wishes, memories and prayers. It was really special.
Forest School
We had so much fun at forest school today. We can’t wait to go back next week!
Celebrating Diwali
We celebrating Diwali throughout the week by decorating our home corner with fireworks and Rangoli patterns. We also created Rangoli patterns with paint and in rice. We did some food tasking too.
Dance
We worked hard to move our bodies in time to the music, feeling the rhythm of the music and deciding how to move to each part. We pretended to be trees throughout the seasons, growing up tall and then losing our leaves in the Autumn.
Paralympics Festival at Gateshead International Stadium
Our Harvest Donations for Strathmore Road ‘Pay as you Feel’ Cafe
To celebrate Harvest Festival, our families have been donating food items for the local 'pay as you feel' cafe at Strathmore Road Methodist Church in the village. Our donations were gratefully received by both the team at the cafe and the local residents.
