Welcome to Nursery
Effective Early Years development is all about learning through play and this is what we do best at Rowlands Gill Nursery!
We love to get creative, challenge and expand young minds, helping them grow across all areas of learning. We believe in working with your children; following and supporting their interests, providing an active, enabling and engaging environment.
Nursery Admissions 2018/19
All children are entitled to 15 hours of free provision provided over 38 weeks. some working parents can claim 30 hours of childcare with a validated code available through HMRC. Where a parent or carer chooses to take up fewer than 15/30 hours or chooses to split their entitlement with another provider the criteria will be applied regardless.We provide and allocate nursery places at Rowlands Gill Primary School using the local authority Nursery Education Admissions Policy.
We have 15 and 30 hour places available for the summer 18 term so please contact us if you would like more information.
Nursery Hours are: 8.45-11.45 Monday to Friday for AM sessions, 12.15-3.15 Monday to Friday for PM sessions. Children taking up a 15 hour place will be offered an AM or PM session. If these times are not suitable please contact school as we look at each place individually to suit the needs of the parents and children.
Children taking up a 30 hour place will do 8.45-3.15 Monday to Thursday and 8.45-12.45 on a Friday

Our Class Blog
Comic Relief
Today we learnt all about Comic Relief and Red nose day. We talked about how important it was to support charities and how they help others in our local community as well as across the world.
Science Week : Moon Boots
The children in nursery listened to the story Whatever Next, we then went outside and made our own moon boots to go to the moon. They were quite tricky to balance on and the children showed great resilience and determination to keep trying and balance....
STEM fun
We had a brilliant time visiting the STEM bus, dissecting daffodils and identifying the different key parts (stem, petals and stamen). We then were able to group them according to their parts and investigate them under a microscope and whilst using magnifying glasses.
Mystery Reader
We have loved having another mystery reader in today, exploring different stories with us. We love having people in to share stories with our class and build our love for books.
Sharing our knowledge of the Life of Granny
Year 1 have been busy learning all about the life of Granny, including what technology our parents may have used and the jobs they may have had. We have compared it to the technology we can us now and they jobs we might like to do. We invited Reception to a gallery of...
Forest school
We had lots of fun at Forest school exploring in nature, hunting for worms and discovering ‘dinosaur bones’. We played games with our friends and also created dens from different objects we found.
French Grammar
