How do you find 1, 10, 100, 1,000 more or less?
We have been using our knowledge of place value to find 1, 10, 100, 1000 more or less of numbers beyond 1000. We used place value counters when it got tricky, especially when exchanging. We hope we don't get in trouble for drawing on the tables 🙂
Ordinal number races
We have been using cars and a racetrack to learn about ordinal numbers, and have enjoyed matching the ordinal numbers to the car in each position.

Spelling Superstars

Exploring Nursery
The children in Nursery have settled into their new class very well. They have been exploring their new classroom, meeting all the grown -ups and making new friends.
Investigating numbers
We have been investigating two-digit numbers today. We worked hard to represent our numbers using different maths equipment which helped us to recognise tens and ones and the value of each digit.
A Great Start!
Year 4 started to think about their new guided reading text today. We were given the book's title 'Stig of the Dump' and some clues in the form of articles and we had to make predictions about what might happen in the story. There were stones, bones, treasure, furs...
