YEAR 5 (INDIGO)
Mr Bain (Covering for Mrs J Miller)Welcome to class 5M!
My name is Mrs Miller and I am the class teacher for 5M.
In class 5M, the children are hard working and enthusiastic. This is our class blog and we want everyone to see what we get up to while we`re learning so please keep visiting regularly for updates on what we have been getting up to in class, school news and recent letters.
Please leave a lovely comment on our blog so we know that you have visited and the children would love to hear what you think about their classroom learning and activities.
Thank you
Mrs Miller

Which country do I live in?
Super Science
We have been LOVING our new Science unit. It is all about humans and other animals. We have learned all about the digestive system and all about our teeth and what their names and jobs are. Year 4 are doctors and dentists in the making!
Colour Hunt
Today we went on a colour hunt. Miss Smales gave us clues and we had to guess the colour. Then we had to go find a object in the classroom to match that colour.
Autumnal walks
We had a brilliant time walking around the school grounds identifying the different signs of Autumn beginning including finding leaves falling from deciduous trees.
How do you find 1, 10, 100, 1,000 more or less?
We have been using our knowledge of place value to find 1, 10, 100, 1000 more or less of numbers beyond 1000. We used place value counters when it got tricky, especially when exchanging. We hope we don't get in trouble for drawing on the tables 🙂
Ordinal number races
We have been using cars and a racetrack to learn about ordinal numbers, and have enjoyed matching the ordinal numbers to the car in each position.
All settled in
Reception have had a super first few weeks in school. They have made new friends, followed our rules and expectations and started small group time work. Well done Reception!
What do we already know about British history?
The children made timelines of all the things that I have learned in key stage one, and then they figured out where the Stone Age would go.
