Hello everyone
This is your homework for this week:
Maths:
Can you practise your 2 , 5 and 10 times table ready for a quiz on Friday next week? You could write them out, make a poster about them or use this website https://www.timestables.co.uk/speed-test/ to test yourself ? We will be working on this in class this week too.
Spellings:
Learn these words for a test on Friday:
forget
forgetting
forgotten
begin
beginning
beginner
These words are root words before and after a suffix (ending) has been added to them. They start as two syllable words and become three syllable words. Notice that the last letter of the root word (forget and begin) is doubled before the prefix is added. This is one of our spelling rules.
Can you also check you can spell the following high frequency words (we use these a lot!):
about
across
after
again
almost
also
Again, we will work on these in class this week.
English: Book recommendations
Have you been reading more over the lock down? Or less? I would love to know a bit more about what you like to read so I’d like you to think about (and maybe make some notes) any of your favourite books (past or present) that you could share with the class. Which book would you like to read again and again? Which one has stuck in your mind, even if you read it ages ago?
On Friday, we will be writing a short book report to add to our library which could encourage other people to read your book! Come to school with your book in mind and some thoughts to write down about it.
See below for an example of a book review/report to give you some ideas.
Have fun!
