Welcome to class 5M! 

My name is Mrs Miller and I am the class teacher for 5M.

Exploring using maps

Celebrating Chinese New Year 🐉

This week we have learning all about Chinese New Year. and learning about new cultures and celebrations.  We have listened to stories including Peppa Pig's Chinese New Year, went on a dragon hunt, made lanterns and enjoyed a Chinese banquet.

Chinese New Year

We enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. We cleaned ready for the new year, made lanterns, did some dragon dancing and set up our own Chinese restaurant. We even wrote our name in Chinese writing. What a super time we had!

Internet Safety Day

We joined the assembly completing challenges on how to stay safe and then went outside and played a game thinking about our reactions and emotions in different scenarios.

Clay techniques

We used play dough to practice different techniques we could use to model the clay with such as twisting, imprinting, rolling and shaping.

Classifying and tasting foods

We sorted fruits and vegetables in to different groups, classifying them by different things such as colour and taste. We then looked at the different areas of our tongue that taste foods and tried foods from each group. Lots of us found the lemon very sour!

We have finished our week with a fantastic afternoon at forest school- cooking on the fire, den building, tyre rolling and lots more.
