As part of our Maths Day celebrations, we have enjoyed working in a range of classrooms covering a range of mathematical areas. In Miss Brown’s class, KS2 learned how to use bar models to solve a range of problems.

Today we went on a colour hunt. Miss Smales gave us clues and we had to guess the colour. Then we had to go find a object in the classroom to match that colour.

We have been using our knowledge of place value to find 1, 10, 100, 1000 more or less of numbers beyond 1000. We used place value counters when it got tricky, especially when exchanging. We hope we don’t get in trouble for drawing on the tables 🙂

We have been using cars and a racetrack to learn about ordinal numbers, and have enjoyed matching the ordinal numbers to the car in each position.
